Are You Summer Fit? Be Ready for the Beach.

Summertime is for beach fun and enjoyment, but many men are too worried about their fitness or abs to really let loose. Getting enough of the right kind of exercise to look and feel your best, requires a bit of planning. Planning to get fit requires that you get a good balance of cardio, strength training, and most men’s favorite – rest. For a truly healthy body you need to focus on time efficient exercise with proper nutrition. Getting back into an exercise routine, and getting your abs to show may be confusing but keep reading to see how.

Cardio – sweat off the pounds.

Getting lean and fit so that you can enjoy your summer and hit the beach with confidence take a good amount of cardio. While the ACSM recommends doing cardio, also known as aerobic, for 3 to 5 days per week, you should be aiming for at least 4 days every week of at least 30 minutes per workout. You can vary the types of cardio that you do – cycling, running, interval training, swimming, etc. – but sticking to the 4 to 5 days per week without waiver will get you into amazing shape.

Resistance Training – life heavy get light

Cardio can help you cut fat and get fit while you’re working out, but resistance/strength training will help to cut fat both during the workout and for hours later. Adding lean muscle mass can help fathers to not only look bigger and more muscular, it also helps to rev up the metabolism and burn fat. You need to stay consistent and workout 2 to 4 times a week, every week, as if you don’t use it you lose it – not the kind of loss that you want!

Rest – importance of doing nothing

Rest can be one of the most underrated ways for fathers to get into great shape. Keeping an eye on overtraining and getting enough sleep every night will help to accelerate your weight loss efforts and getting yourself beach ready. Take time each day to reduce your stress and sleep at least 7 hours each night, for a healthy – and enjoyable – way to lose weight and feel amazing.

Getting into shape can be as easy as 1, 2, 3 (cardio, strength, and rest). Keep your motivation high and stay consistent, and you will have amazing results.
